Juicing takes a special press, I used to make a lot of back in the day when I lived in Lillooet, 100 to 200 litres a year.Bernardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15951619465188564252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-757223788332291085.post-65633460242478650642010-05-29T14:48:33.005-07:002010-05-29T14:48:33.005-07:00I, too, thank you for the tip. We just returned from the market and I'm happy to say there will be a healthy supply of apple pie, apple crumble, apple muffins in our household for the coming weeks. Many berries are often functionally impossible to wash or peel.

What one really needs to know is the sort of pests that are being managed for where your fruit is grown. This then will give you an idea of what pesticides are used. As an example, in BC we have the cherry fruit fly and it requires some pretty freaking powerful pesticides several times to deal with the pest. Diazinon was used in the past.Bernardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15951619465188564252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-757223788332291085.post-53000463394097393872010-05-28T10:16:47.676-07:002010-05-28T10:16:47.676-07:00Thanks for the tip - what an amazing price conside...Thanks for the tip - what an amazing price considering that it's usually at least a $1/lb at the grocery store. I'd be interested to hear your opinion about organic apples. I've been told that apples have some of the highest pesticide residue. I would be a bit worried about stocking up on non-organic apples for this reason.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05230450454938231029noreply@blogger.com
